Original autograph signature of British author, Leslie Barringer, inscribed to British autograph collector, L.E.L. Downing, written in vintage fountain pen ink on a 4Ó x 3Ó piece of paper. Inscribed with a quotation from his work: ÒHe had not captured the Oriflamme, but he had saved Gui. Leslie Barringer.Ó Fine. Leslie Barringer is best known for his fantasy literature and is the author of the Neustrian Cycle, a trilogy of fantasy novels comprising Gerfalcon, Joris of the Rock, and Shy Leopardess, set around the fourteenth century in an alternate medieval France called Neustria. He also published three historical novels of medieval England: Kay the Left-Handed, Know Ye Not Agincourt?, and The Rose in Splendour: a Story of the Wars of Lancaster and York.
