Burns, Nov. 29th, 1942.Ó Near fine bright copy in a very good lightly dust soiled dust jacket with some small chips and tears. The sequel to I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang which Vincent Burns ghost-wrote for his brother, Robert Elliot Burns, and was the basis for the memorable film directed by Mervyn LeRoy, starring Paul Muni. Vincent Burns was a passionate advocate of human rights and prison reform. The front panel of the dust jacket shows an imposing figure of a man with a shotgun slung over one shoulder and a pistol at his hip, overlooking a group of prisoners on a work detail with their ankles chained together.
