Original 163 page final revised shooting script with color rewrite pages, dated June 14, 1941, for the film ÔSwamp Water,' directed by Jean Renoir, screenplay by Dudley Nichols, based on the novel by Vereen Bell, starring Walter Brennan, Walter Huston, Anne Baxter, Dana Andrews, Virginia Gilmore, and John Carradine. Bradbound in printed studio wrappers. Some fading to the spine and with some wear to the edges of the cover, interior fine. Jean Renoir (1894 - 1979), was a French-born film director, actor and author. He was the second son of French Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and wrote what is considered to be the definitive biography of him, ÔRenoir, My Father.' He made over forty films from the silent era to the end of the 1960s, with some of his most memorable work including ÔLa Chienne' (1931), ÔMadame Bovary' (1933), ÔGrande Illusion' (1937), ÔThe Diary of a Chambermaid' (1946), ÔThe Woman on the Beach' (1947), and ÔThe River' (1951). He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Director for ÔThe Southerner' (1945) and in 1975 he received and an Honorary Academy Award with the following commendation: ÒA genius who, with grace, responsibility and enviable devotion through silent film, sound film, feature, documentary and television has won the world's admiration.Ó
