Roland Young was an acclaimed actor best known for his role as Cosmo Topper, a stuffy man who's life is turned upside down by a couple of fun-loving ghosts. The manuscript consists of 1-3 page stories of Young's interesting life. It was intended to be used in an autobiography, and is hand corrected throughout by Young. In addition, Young has drawn caricatures of many of the characters in his stories, including: Robert Benchley, William Gillette, Pola Negri, Deems Taylor, Ralph Barton, Irvin Cobb, Ina Claire, Arthur Hopkins, Lewis Milestone, a self-portrait with Charles Ruggles and Charles Butterworth, and more. Some of the drawings are hand colored, most all of them hand-tipped to larger paper. Enclosed in a three-ring binder, very good. Accompanied by Roland Young's Actors and Others. With an Introduction by Ashton Stevens. Chicago, Covici, 1925. First Edition. Numbered and signed by the author, Roland Young, limited to an edition of 550 copies. A book of caricatures by Roland Young. Very good without dust jacket.
