First Edition. Paperbound. Oversized format (9 1/2Ó x 10Ó). The Ôautobiography' of the young actress, Shirley Temple, as told to her beloved Scotty dog, Corky. Illustrated throughout with many delightful black & white photographs of Shirley Temple, including her playing with dolls, riding her pony, Roanie, in class studying Chinese (for her film Stowaway), being fitted for costumes, joking around with film crew personel, and, of course, talking with Corky. Very good plus to near fine with only slight dust soiling, a bit of creasing, and minor edgewear. The front and rear covers are illustrated with a bright color painting of Shirley Temple wearing a set sky blue satin pajamas with matching slippers sitting in a mauve chair in front of a glowing fireplace.

Signed by the author - actress Shirley Temple on the front free endpaper in a vintage fountain pen signature. Ownership stamp and signature. Extremities worn and used, else very good in a chipped dust jacket with a wraparound collage of scenes from the motion picture. The film is the story of the women and men left behind when many went off to war during World War II and the toll taken on the home front. The film was a huge success with critics and at the box office.
