A commemorative keepsake for attendees of the 20th Biennial Joint Meeting of the Zamorano Club of Los Angeles and the Roxburghe Club of San Francisco, held in Los Angeles on September 23 & 24, 1978, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the testimonial for Father Gleeson which resulted in the decision to build the library at the University of San Francisco named for him, the 20th anniversary of the Gleeson Library Associates, and the 5th anniversary of the dedication of the Donohue Rare Book Room. A very handsome fine press offering containing three impressive holdings of the Richard A. Gleeson Library: the Utopian alphabet as devised by Sir Thomas More, a page of an original calligraphic exercise done by Eric Gill while a student of Edward Johnston, and the front of the printed dust jacket for Thomas Merton's The Solitary Life. Fine.
