3 BRADBURY, RAY Ray Bradbury Bookends Made from Wood Taken from Ray Bradbury's House
Los Angeles 1937-2015 
A pair of bookends made from wood taken from Ray Bradbury's recently dismantled 1937 Los Angeles house limited to 451 numbered sets. Each bookend set is branded with an individual series number and an icon "451 F" logo to commemorate Bradbury's classic bestselling novel, Fahrenheit 451. Sets are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Alexandra Bradbury, the late author's daughter. Bradbury lived in the house for over fifty years until his passing and wrote most of his greatest works there. The edition sold out in two and a half days when offered on line. A portion of the sale proceeds were donated to the Center for Ray Bradbury Studies at Indiana University. The bookends measure 8 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches across the length of the base, and inches wide. Fine condition.

First Edition. The original auction catalogue of Bram Stoker's personal library including some of his manuscripts, 83 pages, for a two day sale, 7-8 July 1913. The first 211 lots (described in twenty pages), detail a large number of items from Stoker's personal library and some of his own manuscripts including his original autograph notes used in writing Dracula, plus the manuscripts of Lady of the Shroud and Lair of the White Worm. Among the books sold are copies of such fantasy classics as Frankenstein and Rip Van Winkle. The catalogue records inscriptions in presentation copies from Mark Twain, Bret Harte, W.B Yeats, John Uri Lloyd (5 inscribed copies) and many others. Stoker was a great admirer of Walt Whitman and his interesting collection of presentation copies and manuscript material is detailed. Stoker also collected Abraham Lincoln material and one of the items offered is the manuscript for an original lecture Stoker give on Lincoln. Two inch tear at the lower spine of the upper cover, otherwise very good. Very rare catalogue.

First Edition. Uncorrected proof copy of the Author's First Book, with the publisher's dated notice laid in. Paperbound. Signed by the author, Wayne Warga, on the half title. Fine in a proof dust jacket. The youngest editor at Life Magazine at age 25, Warga reported on John F. Kennedy's race for the Presidency, and went on to cover the Civil Rights movement for the magazine. For many years, Warga was one of the leading writers at the Los Angeles Times where he did in depth articles and features on writers and people in the arts. Later, Warga became a mystery novelist, creating three well-received bibliomysteries: Hardcover, Fatal Impressions, and Singapore Transfer, featuring Los Angeles rare book dealer, Jeffrey Dean.
