Pages tanned as usual, else a near fine copy with the faintest hint of edge wear in a very good bright lightly used dust jacket with some small shallow chips and tears. A Western novel with the front panel of the jacket showing a full color painting of a man in Western clothing standing in a doorway with a cocked gun in hand watching another armed man riding a horse heading directly toward him with a desert landscape in the background. The rear panel shows a man attempting to cross a river while steering a horse drawn wagon while being pursued by two other armed men from a trail above him.

Los Angeles Privately Printed n.d. (c. 1960s) 
First Edition. 262 page mimeographed typed manuscript for this western novel. Bound with brads in printed wrappers. Issued before the book's eventual publication in 1969 by Bantam, this private issue was intended for use by Gruber's Hollywood agent, H.N. Swanson, who submitted the manuscript to studios for film consideration. Frank Gruber was a well-known writer of mysteries and western fiction.
