1 PARKER, EMMA & NELL BARROW COWAN Fugitives: The Story of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker As Told by Bonnie's Mother and Clyde's Sister
Dallas Ranger Press, Inc. 1934
First Edition. Needless to say, a rather biased look at the exploits of Bonnie & Clyde. Their story is told in recollections, letters, and a poem written by Bonnie, here in part: “If they try to act like citizens/ And rent them a nice little flat,/ About the third night/ They're invited to fight/ By a sub gun's rat-tat-tat.” The story ends with a delightfully morbid little drawing of two graves with blank headstones. Cover is striking in red with images of Bonnie & Clyde in opposite corners, and linking the two is the word “FUGITIVES” marked out in the headlights of a car speeding toward three men with guns. Fine in a dust jacket with a few small chips and one internal repair. Published by an obscure press. Rare.
