A book of the songwriter's memoirs.

2 KASHA, AL & JOEL HIRSCHHORN Reaching the Morning After
Nashville Thomas Nelson 1986 
First Edition. Signed presentation copy inscribed by the author, songwriters Al Kasha and Joel Hirschorn to film and theater producer Allan Carr, charmingly inscribed: “Dear Allan: To one of our greatest contributors to the entertainment world. Love and best wishes, Al Kasha, Joel Hirschorn.April 15, 1985.” Below which is a section of handwritten musical notation and lyric quotation from the memorable Oscar winning song by Kasha and Hirschorn, The Morning After: “There's Got to Be a Morning After.” Laid in is an autographed notecard signed (with the original envelope) on the printed stationary of Kasha & Hirschorn to Allan Carr in which the authors suggest to Carr that the book whose subject is Kasha's devastating experience with agoraphobia would make a “powerful movie”. Al Kasha has won two Academy Awards for the theme songs from The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno. Allan Carr was a flamboyant Hollywood and Broadway producer of such film and stage productions as Grease, La Cage Aux Folles (for which he won a Tony Award), Can't Stop the Music, etc. Before becoming a producer he managed the careers of The Village People, Peter Sellers, Cass Elliot, Herb Alpert, Melina Mercouri, Peggy Lee, Marlo Thomas, Dyan Cannon, Paul Anka, and others. Fine in a fine dust jacket.
