2 BRESLAUER, MARTIN Troubles of a Bibliophile or, Outpourings from the Heart of a Bookloving Wordling
Pasadena Grant Dahlstrom 1970
Second Revised Edition. Paperbound, 4 3/4” x 6 1/4”. This book was first printed in 1935 (bound and distributed in 1937) from a translation by Ruth Frey Axe, and is presented here, as a keepsake for the celebration of Ruth and Hal Axes's 65th Wedding Anniversary, August 8, 1993. With added footnotes and bibiliographical and biographical material by the translator. Fine in printed wrappers, with the original invitation envelope from Dawson's Bookshop. The text is from a speech given by book collector and dealer, Martin Breslauer, and discusses in wonderful language his love of all things literary - from writing to publishing and printing. From the closing of the book's “Biographical Note”: “Martin Breslauer was one of those fortunate individuals whose profession of antiquatian bookdealer provided him with a lifetime of happy endeavor as well as the opportunity to lend assistance to both tyro booklovers and scholars everywhere.”
