A truly wonderful collection of print advertisements which have for been selected by The New Yorker editorial staff as exemplary in style and execution, including works by Rockwell Kent for the jewelry of Marcus & Company, Darcy for Saks-Fifth Avenue, W. Heath Robinson for Rogers Peet Company, Gluyas Williams for Jas. McCreery & Co., Ralph Barton for Harper's Bazar, Lawrence and Guido Rosa for Rolls Royce, Larry Stults for Van Alstyne Motor Corp., Lenore Herman for Shoecraft, Leon Underwood for Guerlain, Loewy for Renault, H.O. Hofman for The New Yorker, Don Herold for Boyce Moto Meters, and many more. Decorative endpapers and colorful graphic design on the front cover of a pattern of Chinese men in caricature with a quote from The Mikado: “My object all sublime, I shall achieve in time, To let the punishment fit the crime, The punishment fit the crime.” Rear cover is gold paper. Very good bright copy with some rubbing to the corners and slight edge wear and a bit of dust soiling and rubbing to the rear cover without dust jacket as issued.
