Second printing. Signed by the author / boxing champion, Battling Nelson. Inscribed: ‘To Charie Eyton, Battling Nelson, L.A., June 9, 1909.” at the printed text reading: “Compliments of Author, Life, Battles and Career of Battling Nelson, Lightweight Champion of the World, Hegewisch, Ill.” Illustrated with photos and with drawings by Tad and Edgren. Very good lightly used copy with some minor edge wear and dust soiling to the cloth without dust jacket. The memoirs of Oscar Mathĺus Nielsen, also known as Battling Nelson (1882 - 1954), a Danish-born boxer who held the world lightweight championship on two separate occasions. He was nicknamed "the Durable Dane" and was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992.
