First Edition, First Printing. Broadway lyricist Gus Kahn's copy with his engraved bookplate on the front free endpaper. Gus Kahn (1886-1941) wrote such classic songs as “I'll See You In My Dreams”, “It Had to Be You”, “Makin Whoopee”. “Side By Side”. etc. Kahn worked with George and Ira Gershwin, Al Jolson, Jerome Kern, Sigmund Romberg, etc. Harry B. Smith (1860-1936) was another very prolific Broadway lyricist remembered for his classic “The Sheik of Araby”, many collaborations with Victor Herbert, and did several editions of the Ziegfeld Follies. In addition, Smith formed a great signed book and autograph collection. Hardbound. Some light general wear, very good. This book is a collection of his lyrics for various Broadway shows and a terrific association copy between two classic Broadway lyricists.
