1 DICKENS, HOMER The Films of Katharine Hepburn
New York Citadel Press 1971 
First Edition. Signed presentation copy from actress Katharine Hepburn to film director, actor, and writer Bryan Forbes and his wife, inscribed on the front free endpaper: “For Bryan & Nanette, from the woman who sold your sweater, much love, Kate.” With Bryan Forbes' bookplate on the front pastedown, printed with the initials “B.J.F.” and an elegant design of a tree and a bee in red on a white background, 2 14” x 2 3/4”. Laid in is an unsigned informal ink sketch of Miss Hepburn in costume on heavy cream paper, 6” x 8”. Bryan Forbes (1926 - 2013) directed Miss Hepburn in the 1969 film The Madwoman of Chaillot with Paul Henreid, Oksar Homolka, John Gavin, Richard Chamberlain, Yul Brynner, and Donald Pleasence and the film is referenced in the book on pages 196 - 198. Oversize format, 243 pages, illustrated throughout. Near fine copy with a hint of use and faint edge wear in a very good slightly used dust jacket with some minor fading to the spine and front panel and with some tiny nicks and tears. Bryan Forbes is best known for his work on the films Chaplin (1992), Seance on a Wet Afternoon (1964), The L-Shaped Room (1962), and The Whisperers (1967).
