1 (MORISON, PATRICIA & JOHN GARFIELD) Original Signed and Inscribed Black & White Photograph of Patricia Morison and John Garfield in a Scene from the Classic Film Noir, The Fallen Sparrow
Los Angeles RKO Radio Pictures 1943 
8 1/4” x 10”. Signed and inscribed by actress Patricia Morison, “Sincerely, Patricia Morison.” The photo shows the lovely Miss Morison with actor, John Garfield, sharing a passionate kiss from a scene in the 1943 film noir adaptation of the novel by Dorothy B. Hughes. Fine condition. Fallen Sparrow had a screenplay by Warren Duff, was directed by Richard Wallace, and starred Patricia Morison, John Garfield, Maureen O'Hara, Walter Slezak, and Martha O'Driscoll. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture. Patricia Morison was known as the actress with the longest hair in Hollywood (39” long) and was promoted by Universal as a 'rival' to Dorothy Lamour when she changed her hairstyle to a middle parting. She appeared as the terrifically elegant villainess opposite Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce in the Sherlock Holmes film Dressed to Kill (1946), and became a Broadway star when Cole Porter chose her to play the lead in his classical musical, Kiss Me, Kate.

Original 2 page letter on Canadian Pacific Cruise Line printed stationery from actor Warner Oland's wife Edith Oland: “Dear Dr. Gardner, May I thank you for your many kind services under such stress–and tell you that I shall always think appreciatively of you genial helpfulness. Au revoir, Sincerely, Edith Oland. May 2, 1936. (Over). P.S. Mr. Oland hopes to see you before we leave the boat but lest he should miss you sends his this. Best regards–and gratitude.” Crease from folding, one tiny tear, else fine. Warner Oland is best remembered for his iconic role as the clever Chinese detective Charlie Chan.
