1 DEAN, JAMES An Issue of the French Film Magazine ‘Star - Cine Roman' Featuring the Classic James Dean Film, La Fureur de Vivre (Rebel Without a Cause)
Paris 10 1/2” x 13 3/8” November 1, 1958
First Edition. An issue of the French film magazine, Star - Cine Roman, which recreates the film, La Fureur de Vivre (Rebel Without a Cause), starring James Dean, Natalie Wood, and Sal Mineo, with stills and dialogue from the screenplay. Text in French. About fine bright copy with just the barest suggestion of use. The front cover is a full-color montage of photographs of James Dean and Natalie Wood in character from the film, with a drawing of Dean looking very cool - standing and smoking a cigarette. Rebel Without a Cause was directed by Nicholas Ray with a screenplay by Stewart Stern, from a story by Nicholas Ray, adapted by Irving Shulman. The film received several Oscar nominations, including Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Natalie Wood), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Sal Mineo), and Best Writing, Motion Picture Story. The rear cover has a full-page color photographic portrait of the lovely actress Millie Perkins, who is perhaps best remembered from her screen debut as Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank.
