First Edition. Director Delbert Mann's copy with his signature: “Delbert Mann, Jr. Yale, 1946.” Illustrated with black & white photographs and with line drawings by Wautell Selden. Evidence of a removed bookplate on the front free endpaper. Slightly used copy with a touch of edge wear and some minor fading & very faint spotting to the cloth at the spine without dust jacket. Delbert Mann (1920 - 2007) was an accomplished director who came from the Golden Age of Television ("Philco Playhouse," "Goodyear Television Playhouse," and "Producers' Showcase") and went on to great success in film, and is perhaps best known for his Oscar-winning direction of the classic film Marty.
