Faulkner wrote two uncredited scenes for this screenplay which are published in this book as fully documented in Blotner's biography and Bruce Kawin's Faulkner and Film. Issued largely as a trade paperback, this is one of the small number of copies issued hardbound. The shooting script for the Howard Hawks directed film, produced during the first year of WWII and after the attack at Pearl Harbor. Anderson, Kingscote Gardens, Stanford University.Ó Elizabeth Prall, before she married Sherwood Anderson, had hired Faulkner to work in a bookstore she had managed in New York. After her marriage, Faulkner became very involved with the Andersons as Sherwood became an early mentor figure to the developing Faulkner.
