Photoplay edition issued to coincide with the British release of the silent film classic directed by Victor Seastrom starring the lovely Miss Lillian Gish as Hester Prynne, Hawthorne's tragic adulterous heroine. Very good lightly used copy with some splitting to the cloth at the top of the spine in a dust jacket with some small chips. The front panel of the dust jacket is a color painting of Hester Prynne cradling her illicit lover, both with large red A's on their chests, with a stockade in the background and a young girl looking on.
