Later printings. Two volume set, both signed by the author, Eric Sloane. Signed presentation copies from Eric Sloane, both inscribed: “To the Wildes, Eric. 1982.” Oversize. Illustrated throughout with pen and ink drawings by Eric Sloane of ‘ordinary' images of traditional rural American school life. ABC is about fine with a very faint trace of rubbing to the corners at the top and bottom of the spine. Schoolhouse has a 1/3” tear to the cloth at the top of the spine at the fold and a tiny bit of rubbing to the bottom of the spine. Both volumes are enclosed in the publisher's printed slipcase which is slightly worn and spotted.
