Original 108 page final draft shooting script, dated January 3, 1995 for the film ‘Hard Eight,' originally titled ‘Sydney,' written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, starring Philip Baker Hall, John C. Reilly, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson, F. William Parker, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Bradbound in printed wrappers with the original title ‘Sydney' on the front cover. Very good copy with a hint of dust soiling and a bit of edge wear. This was Anderson's first feature film. He was later nominated for Oscars for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen for ‘Boogie Nights' (1997) and ‘Magnolia' (1999), and for Best Picture, Best Achievement in Directing, and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published for ‘There Will Be Blood' (2007).

The film received Oscar nominations and Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Phoenix), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Hoffman), and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Adams). The film tells the story of a Navy man (Phoenix) returning from service in WWII and facing a series of emotional and psychological breakdowns who becomes centrally involved with a charismatic cult leader (Hoffman) and his wife (Adams).
