About fine copy with just a hint of use. ‘Celebrity Sweepstakes' was a television game show on NBC and ran from April 1, 1974 to October 1, 1976 with two separate weekly syndicated runs from 1974 to 1975 and 1976 to 1977. It had a general horse racing theme, with odds, rounds, a homestretch, and payouts. It was hosted by Jim McKrell, who would begin each show by reading a question, after which the studio audience would select one of the celebrities on the panel whom they believed had the correct answer. This particular episode represents NBC's first cross-game promotion, held on St. Patrick's Day in 1975, thus the title ‘Shamrock Sweepstakes.' It involved the hosts from NBC's six daytime game shows at the time (Jim McKrell from ‘Celebrity Sweepstakes,' Alex Trebek from ‘High Rollers,' Chuck Woolery from ‘Wheel of Fortune,' Peter Marshall from ‘Hollywood Squares,' Geoff Edwards from ‘JackPot!,' and Art James from ‘Blank Check') who answered a set of questions dealing with Ireland and Irish-American people, with the grand prize being $100,000. Includes details of rules of the game.
